Chicago – ONE People’s Campaign and Asian American Midwest Progressives issued the following joint statement:
ONE People’s Campaign (OPC) and Asian American Midwest Progressives (AAMP) are proud to have been early endorsers of Hoan Huynh – the Democratic nominee for the 13th state house district.
This win would not have been possible without the hard work of the grassroots members of Asian American Midwest Progressives and ONE People’s Campaign. Hoan’s victory proves that community organizing and a strong ground game can contend with deep campaign coffers and high profile endorsements.
From door knocking to volunteer recruitment to phone- and text-banking, a diverse coalition of grassroots community members across the 13th district came together to demand bold, progressive leadership. Hoan will be a champion for affordable housing, universal healthcare, immigrant rights, economic opportunity, climate justice, and making sure everyone has the resources they need to live with joy and dignity. This is a collective victory and we look forward to co-governing with Hoan in 2023 and beyond.
